About The Chess Scholar Magazine |
The Chess Scholar is an award winning scholastic chess magazine. The magazine is designed to help children learn and excel in chess, but it can also be utilized as a beginner adult teaching tool. Common themes in the magazine are chess problems, game analysis, and the examination of basic tactics, strategies, and openings.
The American Scholastic Chess Federation (ASCF) has been publishing magazines since January 2004. The primary editor is Leopold Lacrimosa with contributing articles from IM Jeremy Silman and Josh Green.
Subscription to the magazine is just $31.77. In addition to your subscription you will receive an ASCF rating membership. This rating service will allow you to have a modern, up-to-date rating that is calculated on the 1st and 15th of every month, using the ELO rating system.
